Diese August-1963 Ausgabe ist darum so besonders interessant, weil gerade in 1963 zwei herausragende Innovationen von einer Funkausstellung aus Europa in Berlin (auch im August 63) kamen. Das war der neue DUAL 1009 Hifi-Plattenspieler und der Philips CC-Recorder. Beide Produkte schrieben im Anschluß Weltgeschichte. Und davon ist in der US-Ausgabe noch nichts zu lesen. Warum die ganz normalen Presseinfos bei den US-Importeuren bezüglich dieser europäischen Neuigkeiten nicht angekommen waren, ist nicht mehr zu ergründen.

Presenting the annual compilation of the new- and some of the old standby -products that will be shown by your hi-fi dealer during the coming months, and at the New York High Fidelity Music Show in September.

WHEN THE Hi-Fi MANUFACTURERS bring forth their annual crop of new and improved products, they are understandably anxious that everyone should know all about them. We are in full sympathy with this desire to the extent that we employ the August 1963 issue as a Product Preview, and then - to continue the service - we make the entire section available later in a handy-sized book for continued reference. This book, to be published September 1, is known as the Audioguide 63.

In an attempt to arrive at some sort of uniformity in the descriptions of the products shown, each manufacturer was furnished forms for each category of products, with spaces for the information we think is important to the potential purchaser.
We have continued the style of presentation, allowing a listing of up to five items in addition to the principal one, but without description in detail. Thus we have some 300 main listings plus an average of 2-plus subsidiary listings for each main one - giving us a total listing of almost 1.000 products.

The specifications given are those provided by the manufacturer. Prices quoted may vary between East and West, but only one price is shown. In any instance, for further information about any product described or listed, just write to the manufacturer at the address given below - he will be glad to hear from you.

  • Anmerkung : Es wird natürlich nicht erwähnt, daß die Hersteller oder besser formuliert die "Inserenten" für jeden Eintrag zur Kasse gebeten wurden. ALTEC

• 351 B Solid-State Power Amplifier. The 351B is an all transistor utility amplifier which is adaptable to a wide variety of applications. EICO

• HF89A 100-watt Stereo Power Amplifier Kit. Each power amplifier section of the HF89, employed cathode-coupled phase-inverter-driven circuit, preceded by a direct-coupled voltage amplifier. Fixed-biased, push-pull EL34's are used in the output stage and provision is made for both bias and d.c.-balance adjustments. Silicon diode rectifiers provide very good regulation.
