1961 - "McIntosh Stereo, Hi-Fi Equipment" im HARVEY Katalog

Das ist das Programm des Herstellers "McIntosh" im HARVEY Katalog von Mitte /Ende 1961. Man nannte das auch die "Modelle 1962". Im eigenen "McIntosh" Hauptkatalog waren einige dieser Geräte bereits nicht mehr enthalten. Die Periode des USA weiten Versandhandels wurde ziemlich schnell beendet. Dafür waren die Produkte nicht nur zu gut, sie waren für den Durchschnitts-Amerikaner einfach zu teuer.

Das sind also die Produkte oder Geräte, die McIntosh im Jahr 1961/62 in den USA angeboten hatte. Diese McIntosh Modelle hier waren nicht so kurzlebig wie bei den Wettbewerbern und der Qualität von McIntosh konnte eine ganze Zeit lang keiner etwas anhaben. Eigentlich waren sie für den Mailorder-Vertrieb zu teuer.

Independently tuned and controlled AM and FM tuning sections are provided with accurate, tuning indicators; single mode selector sets for separate AM, monophonic FM and Stereo AM-FM. Provision is also made for FM Multiplex.

Ultra-sonic activated muting assures complete silence between stations. Variable AFC with delayed action for great tuning ease. Care in the greatest degree has been devoted on this tuner during research, design, engineering and manufacture. This tuner will receive either monophonic or stereophonic FM broadcasts and will operate through any type of monophonic or stereophonic equipment, including preamplifiers, power amplifiers, tape recorders, etc.
Features: Cascode amplifier with three flat-topped IF amplifiers. Two temperature-compensated discriminators: Narrow band for ultrasonic muting, AFC and tuning meter drive, and a broad band for nearly perfect audio performance. A two-stage, low-impedance, feedback audio amplifier is used for excellent sound quality. New mechanical tuning assembly gives smooth flywheel tuning. Sensitivity: 334 mv at 100% modulation (±75 kc) for less than 3% total noise and distortion in accordance with IHFM Standards. Frequency Response: Within 2db, 20-20,000 cps. Like other famous McIntosh power amplifiers, this superb stereo/ monophonic two-channel model offers the highest in professional standards for home entertainment systems.

High power and distortion-free performance provided in two separate amplifiers mounted on a single chassis; can be connected with an input facility to be used in three ways: As a two-channel stereo amplifier delivering 40 watts for each channel (sensitivity, 2.0 volts); as independent twin amplifier, 40 watts per channel for electronic crossover systems or for stereo if increased sensitivity is desired (sensitivity 0.4 volts); or, as a single channel monophonic amplifier, 80 watts (sensitivity, 0.4 volts).

Perfect for use in a monophonic home music system, as one channel in a stereo system or many industrial uses. Patented circuit with unity coupling and the McIntosh bifllar wound output transformer permits high power with distortion below 1% at mid frequencies. The bifllar windings in the output coils results in extremely tight coupling preventing leakage inductance which causes notch distortion. Silicon rectifiers are provided for quick recovery from overloads without overshoot or blockage, good transient response and complete stability. A thermistor is also built into the MC75 to assure greater tube and component life. Frequency Response: +0, -0.1db, 16-40,000 cps at 75 watts output; +0, -0.5db, 16-60,000 cps at 75 watts output; +0, -1db, 10-100,000 cps at 38 watts output. McIntosh circuit and unity coupling for high efficiency class B amplification and high quality performance. Wave form distortion is eliminated at all frequencies. The 1/2 cathode 1/2 plate loading provides a feedback factor of 12db which with additional loop feedback, offers the lowest distortion and the most stable power.
