matched stereo systems (nannten sich diese Musikschränke)
A number of excellent radiograms and high-quality record players for stereo reproduction has become available. The radiograms do not, of course, include stereo radio tuners as there are no general stereo broadcasts.
Most of them are designed to give a rich stereo effect in a normal-sized room without the addition of extra speakers but a few have the second speaker system housed in a separate cabinet which is sold separately. Of the one-piece systems, a number have companion speakers which are useful in larger rooms where a fuller stereophonic effect can be appreciated. Apart from these points, it will be noted that some of the tuners include short-wave, but not all, and the facilities for record storage vary considerably.
The style of the cabinet is, of course, very important, in a piece of furniture of this size but the range available from the different manufacturers goes far to meet all tastes.
